At Ducks2Water Ducklings we offer a warm, welcoming space where little ones can explore the water in a fun and nurturing environment, laying the foundation for a confident, lifelong relationship with swimming.

Sessions follow a child-led approach, supporting natural progression at a pace that’s right for them. They will gain essential water confidence and early swimming skills through interactive play, gentle guidance, and engaging activities – all while having fun and feeling safe.

We bring learning to life with a play-based, sensory-aware approach that stimulates your child’s natural curiosity. Using rhymes to cue movements, toys, and water play, our classes encourage exploration and skill-building in a way that feels joyful and instinctive. This helps children feel comfortable in the water and supports their coordination, body awareness, and confidence.

For parents, these classes are more than just time in the pool. They are a special opportunity to bond with your child while gaining valuable knowledge about the key skills children need to master as they learn to swim. Our experienced instructors guide you every step of the way, helping you understand how to support your little one’s progress both alongside them and out of the water.

Whether you're just starting out with your baby or preparing your preschooler for the following stages of mastering strokes, our programme provides a steady, supportive pathway through the early stages of their swimming journey.

Changing mats are available for you to use. We kindly ask parents to give the mat a wipe down before and after use. You are welcome to bring your own mat if you prefer.

What should I bring?

All children unless fully potty trained need to be wearing a double nappy. This helps prevent pool contaminations which lead to pool closure and lesson cancellations. A double nappy consists of a swim nappy and a neoprene happy nappy.

We recommend the Splash About Reusable Nappy (Happy Nappy) If you follow the link, you can receive a 10% discount using the code D2WSPLASH.

Swimming costumes and warm layers such as ‘Baby Wrap’ and ‘Warm in One’ are perfect! Both products are available from Splash About, and you will receive a 10% discount with the code D2WSPLASH if you follow the link: Baby Wrap and Warm in One

Baby wipes, towels, warm layers for after swimming – hats are great! Snack and a drink for after class!

When should I arrive for my lesson?

We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before the class begins to allow enough time to get ready

When should I feed my baby before their swim?

Breastfed or bottle-fed babies can be fed up to 15 minutes before the lesson. Children should eat 1 hour before swimming. Children will probably be ready for a snack or a feed after swimming.

Do I need to get in with my child?

At all Parent and Child lessons (Duckling 1, Duckling 2 and Duckling 3) parents are in the water with their child.
